Since the 1980's, I've been fascinated and entrenched in technology starting with a Commodore Vic-20 (20 kilobytes of memory!) computer and then onto the Commodore 64, IBM 286/386. Those earlier systems didn't have hard-drives so you had to load programs from floppy disk or even program in BASIC (I know, I'm just reminiscing here).
In the 90's, I remember being a Windows 95 Beta tester for Microsoft and providing feedback. Being able to contribute to the improvement of technology was thrilling
The journey of my tech career started with working for some local computer repair shops, gaining experience with PC's.

Next I enrolled in the CIS (Computer Information System) program at Okanagan University College. In the late 90's, I worked for several computer retails stores doing various roles such as technician, customer services and sales/support.

I enjoyed the hands on experience working with tech and helping people. In the early 2000's, I focused on advanced networking and Internet Protocols, plus learning HTML.
With advancement in the world wide web and web-based technologies, allowed my continued education in JavaScript, C#, Python and CSS.
I was then fortunate to work with ERP & CRM systems and develop skills with relational databases and IIS.
Lastly, I joined a few MSP's (Managed Service Providers) to provide general IT support to small-medium businesses and utilizing remote management tools.
Today, I have been concentrating on Cybersecurity and InfoSec to adapt to the growing threats and cyber attacks. I'm also keen on learning and enjoy subjects such a cryptocurrency, blockchain, and artificial intelligence.
